The Death of Ivan Ilyich by Leo Tolstoy

Like Ivan Ilych who fears he is dying, while reading the micro font of this edition you will fear you are going blind.

After studiously comparing the first two pages of the Death of Ivan Ilych in the Samples of the several translations here on Amazon, I chose this translation to reread, having endured the outdated Maude translation when I first read this story 45 years ago. I was not disappointed. This is the masterful contemporary translation to choose to read.

But do NOT purchase the paperback edition. The price is equitable for a book whose pages total 500, even if you intend to read only the first story, the Death of Ivan Ilych. But the pages are thin and tiny, and the font even tinier. Like Ivan Ilych who fears he is dying, while reading this book's microscopic font you will fear you are going blind. Instead, buy the eBook.
